PARTICIPANT TERMS · VERSION 2026-10-25

Taking part
in an experience.

These terms apply personally to adults who join a paid Obelisk experience individually, including the adult responsible for a shared phone.

The exact version presented to you is saved with your participation receipt. These terms accompany the Purchase Terms and Customer Privacy Notice.

Personal agreement

Obelisk is operated by Altoray LLC. You must be at least 18 years old to accept these terms. Your acceptance is personal: an organizer, buyer, friend, or device cannot accept for another adult. Your acceptance does not bind another person who accompanies you or follows along on your screen.

These Participant Terms are version 2026-10-25 and apply from publication. The exact version presented to you is saved with your participation receipt.

What the experience involves

Obelisk experiences are self-guided activities in real places. You may walk, observe surroundings, solve clues, listen to audio, use a map or camera, and interact with fictional or AI-assisted characters.

The service is not a guide, emergency service, accessibility guarantee, or permission to enter a location. You decide whether your health, mobility, surroundings, weather, and device make participation appropriate.

Outdoor-risk acknowledgment

Outdoor activity involves ordinary risks including traffic, crossings, uneven or slippery surfaces, steps, weather, heat or cold, water, crowds, animals, construction, other people, and distraction from a phone. GPS and map markers can be inaccurate or delayed.

You voluntarily choose to participate with knowledge of these ordinary risks. Stop if a route, instruction, place, condition, or interaction seems unsafe, unlawful, closed, or unsuitable for you. You never need to approach a marker, finish a clue, or continue an outing at the expense of safety.

Safe and lawful use

Stop somewhere safe before reading, typing, listening closely, or using the camera. Use designated pedestrian routes and crossings. Do not use the experience while driving, cycling, or operating equipment. Remain aware of traffic, signs, closures, and other people.

Respect private property, opening hours, posted rules, and local law. Do not trespass, climb, enter water, cross barriers, interfere with others, damage property, or retrieve a physical object unless the experience clearly and lawfully instructs you to do so.

Children and supervision

Paid Obelisk experiences are designed primarily for adults. Children may accompany an adult with a parent or legal guardian’s permission and supervision, subject to any age restrictions for the experience. The responsible adult should check its description, route and suitability guidance, and remains in charge of the phone, character chat and the group’s use of the experience.

Accounts and individual joins for these paid experiences are for adults; children do not need an account to accompany them. Do not submit a child’s name, email address, photograph, voice recording or other personal information through guest, character, support or reporting features.

Location, camera, audio, and AI

Location permission is used to determine when nearby experience content may become available. A camera is requested only for a feature that needs it. Denying a permission may limit that feature, but it does not change your agreement or start the refund clock.

AI-assisted characters can be inaccurate, fictional, or unexpected. Do not rely on experience content for medical, legal, financial, emergency, access, or navigation advice. Do not submit sensitive personal information to a character.

Group behavior

The group may share progress, rewards, or unlocks, while media playback and device permissions remain individual. Do not pressure another participant to approach a place, use a feature, or continue after they choose to stop.

The organizer starts the outing. Late joining does not restart it or extend the refund window. A refund, suspension, or revocation may end access for the entire group.

Problems and emergencies

Use the available unsafe-location or support control when a route is closed, inaccessible, misleading, or unsafe. Move to a safe place first. In an emergency, call the appropriate emergency service; Obelisk cannot dispatch emergency help or monitor your location continuously.

You may stop at any time. Contact hello@obelisk.place if an in-product support or safety control is unavailable.

Responsibility and legal limits

You are responsible for your conduct, lawful access, attention to your surroundings, and decision to continue. Altoray remains responsible to the extent required by applicable law for its own conduct.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Altoray is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential economic loss. Nothing here excludes liability for gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or any injury, remedy, or consumer right that applicable law does not allow us to waive. These terms do not claim to release every possible bodily-injury claim.

Law, versions, and contact

New York law governs these terms where legally permitted. We are not adding mandatory arbitration in this version. A material change requires a new review where applicable; we do not rewrite the document attached to an existing receipt.

Contact hello@obelisk.place with questions about participation, accessibility, safety, or these terms. Mail may be sent to Altoray LLC at 418 Broadway, STE N, Albany, NY 12207, USA.

ONE PASS. ONE INVITATION.

Your people.
The same adventure.

You get the pass. Your people join with a link or code. Each phone follows your group’s shared progress.

EXAMPLE GROUP · NOT A LIVE INVITATION

Guests joining within your pass limit don’t need to buy a separate pass. If everyone shares one phone, Discovery is enough. Invitations are for this shared outing; they aren’t separate reusable tickets.
